Shop & Eat Healthy

Get inspired with an ongoing collection of resources that have inspired me on my own food journey and hopefully will inspire you on yours.

Warning! I did not start eating vegan to lose weight. Nor did I intend on “becoming vegan” forever. There are plenty of vegans who don’t eat healthy. That’s not my goal. I started experimenting with plant-based cuisine because I wanted to feel better. In addition to giving up meat and dairy, I also gave up caffeine and processed sugars.

I had read a review of the book Quantum Wellness and decided to buy it in January 2009. I felt so good once I got started, that I incorporated many of the principles in to my daily eating routine. Three months later I not only felt better than I ever had in my life, I had also lost twenty pounds as a side benefit. It doesn’t mean I don’t still eat a good brownie on occasion. :-)

But it’s taken me nearly 40 years to realize you don’t need a box of who-knows-what from the grocery store or even a hint of eggs to make a variety of delightful brownies. Why not start to explore some of them?

It's time to start your journey!

Quantum Wellness assesses that what you eat impacts how you feel and live everyday. The most critical thing to remember is that healthier eating is a journey and every meal is a choice. The ultimate goal is to learn how to make healthier choices more often, so that you feel better and live better.

Rather than offering strict guidelines and regimented diets or meal plans, it offers inspiration and relief. Don’t get upset if you don’t stick specifically to the meal plans it includes or if you decide to skim a few sections here and there. Just remember that eating healthier is a journey – the important thing is to start it and enjoy it.
