Warning! This site is comprised of a collection of plant-based recipes. You won’t find any steak, cheese, fish or fowl intermingled in its pages. What you will find is a collection of recipes that may help inspire you to do more with your veggies than toss them in a salad or serve them as a mere second-fiddle side dish.
I have been a vegetarian for over four years and a vegan for nearly one. The most common question I get is “why?” followed by “what do you eat?” That’s why I started this blog. Not because I’m an expert, but because I want to share my journey and encourage others to share theirs. I want to share all the great reasons to eat a plant-based cuisine as I learn them (health, environment, animals), highlighting all the incredible tastes you can explore that you never really hear about with a more traditional, mainstream approach to cooking.
This summer, I hosted Dave – a cyclist who was biking across the country for the environment. Dave had never met a vegan. I’m happy to be his first.
After a brief discussion, Dave paused for a moment and delivered this moment of insight:
“I’ve always thought about the foods you have to give up. I’ve never actually thought about all the new foods you get to try.”

There are dozens of foods and literally hundreds of delicious recipes I’ve enjoyed this year since going vegan that I had never eaten before, including gluten-free and raw recipes. Just because I throw in a few of them now and then doesn’t mean I’m restricting my diet. I’m simply learning to enjoy healthy eating alternatives. Alternatives like Almond Milk or Green Smoothies – the simplest, freshest way to get more dark green leafy vegetables in your diet than anything I could imagine. Thanks for the tip Marina.
Warning! You do not have to be a vegan or a vegetarian to enjoy the recipes on this site. Most major experts agree that a healthy diet should be made up mostly of plant-based food. And the more health problems you have, maybe you want to eat even more. The good news is that it can be fun. The most important thing is to get started. Once you decide to eat healthier, you may find yourself doing it more and more often!
I hope these journeys inspire you further on your own.
